The Alison*s EAT FREE Concept was born in 1987. Initially I created edible concoctions of healthy, delicious meals and snacks. Essentially, they were free of sugar, dairy, wheat, and animal products.

From there I explored many healthy eating systems that I have followed at various times in my life.

Due to the many food sensitivities I suffered from, the Alison*s EAT FREE Concept philosophy and Recipes were a natural evolution from the Western Pattern Diet(2) as well as the Standard American Diet(4). In many ways my concept was way ahead of its time. This is because of its similarity to what is now known as the vegan completely plant-based diet.

In fact, the definition for veganism in Wikipedia is a totally plant based diet. In other words, it is a way of life and diet that rejects the use of animals and their by-products.(1) Additionally, it is becoming very popular today especially with the discovery of the Blue Zones(3), their lifestyles and the eating habits of the populations.
